Empaths and Manifesting Part 1

Empaths and Manifesting Part 1: The Wise Walls of the Delphi Temple

Manifesting is easy. We do it all the time. There is so much material on consciously creating your reality that is available out there already. (I’m having a torrid love affair with the teachings of Abraham at the moment). When engaging the Law of Attraction to consciously co-create your experience the Universe, there are many different theories and approaches, but they all have one thing in common: your emotions are a key component.  Emotions act as both a fuel for your desires, as well as a guidance system for when you’re off the beaten path towards your goals. Because of this, empaths have a unique challenge when it comes to manifesting.

Empaths frequently have the added challenge of having to sort through their emotional landscape to determine what is theirs versus what is someone else’s emotional experience.  This can be confusing and detrimental to the process of creating our world, or it can be a beautiful boost to our ability to create.

It’s important to remember that we are always manifesting.  ALWAYS. The first step to doing this more effectively is to be conscious of how and what we manifest. This is where I look to the wisdom of the temple of Delphi for guidance. On the walls of temple where the famous oracles were revered is the most simple and profound phrase: Know Thyself. This is coupled with a lesser revered piece of wisdom carved into the walls as well: Nothing to Excess. These are the two key phrases that guided the oracles at Delphi, as well as the people that came to see them.

Know Thyself

Knowing yourself has a few different components to it for empaths.  First, we have to be fully aware of what OUR emotional state is.  To know this, we have to find our emotional baseline – that frequency that we are operating at on any given day.  I find it helpful to become aware of the baseline as soon as I wake. Try keeping an impression journal: start your day by recording your dreams if you remember them, but also take a good look at what you’re feeling.  When we sleep, we go through a little bit of a ‘re-boot’, which allows us to engage the world from an entirely different perspective than what we had the day before.

“But what if I wake up on the wrong side of the bed?” No worries! This happens to the best of us! First though, let’s correct this line of thinking. There is no ‘wrong’ side of the bed.  How you feel is how you feel.  Honor your baseline, even if it isn’t exactly where you want it to be. This gives you a prime opportunity to shift your emotional frequency to a place that’s more appealing.  When this happens, it’s actually a wonderful gift – the opportunity to truly explore where you are, in this moment.  What is this feeling telling you? How is your emotional guidance system telling you that you are out of alignment with your current circumstance?  Are you off the path to what it is that you’re telling the Universe that you want to realize?  Are you just off-beat – trying to dance against the rhythm of the Universe instead of being in time with it?  If this is the case, are you resisting, or maybe you’re trying to move faster than the currents of creation? These are just a few points to ponder, to get you thinking of what’s brewing beneath the surface.

When you rise, give yourself a few moments of contemplation. Sit for a moment and look to the core of your baseline.  What do you wish to change about that feeling? What aspect of your emotional landscape do you want to heighten? (Be careful here! It’s really easy to identify that part that we don’t want. Realization of it is one thing, but don’t let that be the seed driving you. You’re feeding the feeling with your focus, so make sure that you’re feeding the flowers and not the weeds.) Once you’re aware of this focal point, figure out all of the things that can support it and help it to flourish, then start bringing those things into being.

The key point to remember here is to be in the present moment. Let’s look at an example to illustrate this point and tie this all together. Say you’re wanting to consciously manifest a new job for yourself, and you wake up on the ‘wrong’ side of the bed.  Once you sit in contemplation, you realize that it’s because you don’t want to go in to your present job today.  When you dig in, you realize that you have lost all love for your position. Why? Let’s say that it’s because you’re bored and unappreciated. That’s great! We have a starting point! How can you feed the feelings of excitement and appreciation? These don’t have to be earth-shattering kind of actions. Decide to wear something bold, something that’s exciting and makes you smile. You can take a different route into your job.  Maybe pick up donuts or a card for an office mate that shows how much you appreciate them. Once you shift your mind into this space, then think about ways to manifest that new job. Give your resume the once over and consider changing a phrase or two to something a bit more exciting. (For instance, instead of ‘receptionist’ or answering phones’, you could ‘help direct and connect callers to the resources that can help them the most’.) Then, it’s a matter of finding and following your inspiration. Once you create the proper emotional environment for your manifestation to become sustained, then it magnetizes to you! It already exists – you’ve already created it. It’s about holding the space for it to express into the world around you. It’s drawn to you like a magnet.

Now, for empaths, having this baseline also helps you to be more aware of what is yours and what’s someone elses. Empaths are exquisite manifesters because the emotional charge is a bit higher than other folks’ might be. But this can create a lot of turmoil and heartache too, because we tend to take on other people’s junk as our own.  By feeding your own baseline, you will start to notice that your emotional output is stronger too. Your good mood becomes infectious. You may also notice that certain people just aren’t around you as much. That’s because empaths are super magnets! We attract what’s in alignment with our field of creation, and those things that aren’t simply don’t stick. The people and situations that aren’t in alignment with you are either ‘repelled’ by your vibration because it doesn’t match their own, or because you’re manifesting so much of your focused desire that they just don’t command the same attention from you.

Imagine, if you will, a sheet of aluminium foil with iron filings on it. When you run the magnet across the surface, the iron filings will attract and stick to the magnet, but the aluminium foil (even though it’s metal) just stays there. And what happens to the iron filings on the magnet? They carry that magnetic charge through them and attract more iron filings. Empaths function like an electromagnet – that extra voltage super charges and grows that magnetic field. The trick is to make sure that your magnetic field is being charged by focusing on what you do want instead of what you don’t.

This doesn’t mean that you won’t come into contact with people or situations that aren’t ‘magnetizable’; but it does mean that those people and situations won’t stick to you, as long as you don’t shift your focus into alignment with their focus.  Keep your focus on your own baseline, and you’ll soon find that they just aren’t woven into the fabric of your reality – they are more like a loose thread that eventually falls away.

In Part 2 of the Empaths and Manifesting series, we will talk about the other part of the idiom – Nothing to Excess – as well as look further east for some inspiration. (Part 2 will be posted a little later this week.)

Surviving Empathy: My Personal Toolkit

image

I’m not going be one of those people that complain about their sensitivities, playing the victim card of “It’s so hard being so intuitive” (imagine the statement in the hushed whine of an ‘ultra spiritual person’ that sits non-judgementally in judgement of all of the ways that you could be more spiritually enlightened).  That being said, yes, sometimes it really is hard, especially for the natural empaths out there.

Empaths pick up on everyone emotions, especially the ‘louder’ (e.g. the more unpleasant) ones.  The same holds true for physical sensations, especially pain.  And trying to find the “off switch” is like trying to find your keys buried in the bottom of your purse or gym bag when you really REALLY need to get inside right now! That’s why I’d like to share my personal favorite ways of dealing with empathic overload.

There are a variety of ways to address excess emotional energy, and basically all of these ways involve grounding and clearing the energy off of you.

Favorite Stone for Dealing with Empathy:  Black Tourmaline

Black tourmaline is a fantastic grounding stone.  It’s also an AMAZING protector, helping to keep your energy field in tip top shape. I love the personality I feel from black tourmaline, and I also find it very helpful with keeping the ‘sticky’ electromagnetic energies at bay that you get from computers and like.  I wanted to lead with stones on this little list because it’s really easy to access the energy of stones for their intended purpose: you carry them. They can be in your pocket, in your bag, in a piece of pretty jewelry, tucked in your bra (yep, that’s right, I said it.)  With some stones, you can also make a gem elixir to bring that energy of grounding and protection directly into your body.  To make a gem elixir, place the stone in a clear glass or crystal bowl and pour water over it to cover it.  Then place the bowl in the sun for 3- 8 hours.  Alternatively, you can suspend the stone over boiling water for about 20 minutes, allowing the water vapor to condense on the stone and drip back down into the water. You can also just drop the stone in a water bottle and then allow healing energy to flow through your hands as you charge the water up. (This works especially well with Reiki.)  I’ve found the sunning method to produce the strongest results for me, and many people use this to produce an elixir that ‘enhances in potency per dilution priniciples’. (In other words, you would dilute it in the same way you would to create a homeopathic remedy).  I’m not that fancy, so I just drink the water though.  Some other stones you may want to look into for consideration:  Smoky Quartz, Hematite, Kyanite (especially the Black variety for empaths) and Citrine. ***Research the stones to make sure they are safe to make elixirs with. Some stones can leech poisonous or harmful minerals into the water. Other stones can dissolve into the water (such as selenite).***

Favorite ‘Break Glass in case of Emergency’ Method of Dealing with Empathy:  Heavy Food

That’s right.  EAT SOMETHING!!! And make it meaty and starchy if your diet allows.  This is a great way to bring yourself back into your own skin.  This is also a fairly socially acceptable thing.  Nobody is going to bat an eye if you say “I’m feeling a little spacy. I think I need a cheeseburger.” The danger in this way of dealing with ungroundedness is that you can become reliant on it.  You shouldn’t have to eat a crappy calorie laden meal to ground yourself. This should be reserved for those times that you just can’t shake everybody’s mess off of you.  And yes, it can still work for the vegetarians.  (I was vegan for a good long time, and trust me – the food trick worked without animal products). Potatoes seemed to work best for me, way better than veggie burgers.  You just want something heavy.  Other (healthier) ways of forcibly grounding that mess off of you is to wash your hands in very cold water,  or rub a spoon on the bottom of your feet. These ways can work just as well as a heavy meal, but, you know, I really like cheeseburgers.

Favorite Maintenance Method of Dealing with Empathy:  Spiritual Baths

Ok folks, if you’re empathically sensitive, you should really be taking yourself through grounding and centering (as well as visualized shielding) on a daily basis. That’s a given.  I do it several times a day actually.  But what I really enjoy:  a relaxing bathtub filled with hot water with blessed sea salt, hyssop and lavender essential oils.  Sometimes it’s a cup of apple cider vinegar and epsom salts.  Sometimes it’s an herbal blend for spiritual cleansing.  This helps to bring the brain back to center, and align the energies in the most amazing and relaxing way.  I try to do this at least once a week to help maintain my sunny disposition and keep the ickys off of me.  This is not a replacement for grounding and centering, nor should it take the place of daily meditation and exercise to help keep you in alignment.  Ideally, you should be sitting in meditation (which should included a grounding and centering) for about 10-15 minutes per day, exercising at least a half an hour every other day, and using techniques like a spiritual bath to help bolster your energies into alignment about once a week.

Other points to consider when dealing with empathy:

Getting enough sleep

Keeping your personal space uncluttered

Keeping your personal space clear of bad vibes

Feeding your Spirit (volunteering, spiritual groups/churches, etc.)

Journaling

Being in nature (especially ‘Earthing’ – go barefoot!)

Having someone to talk it out with

Knowing and honoring your self and your truth

Owning when it IS your emotion, even when you’d rather that it was someone else’s junk

This is a very short list of ways that you can keep your empathy as an ally, instead of letting turn into a dragon that you want to slay.  Trust me when I say it’s far better to deal with empathy in an ongoing/maintenance capacity than to let it overtake you and then you try to regain control.  And no, you’re not expected to be perfect.  There will be days where you say ‘Screw meditating/exercising/bathing/etc’.  You are allowed.  Just try a few of these methods and see if they work for you. Give it a shot, and if they don’t improve your quality of life, so be it – you can disregard them.  Not everything will work for everyone.  But if they don’t work for you now, try them again in a couple of months and see.

Also remember this is MY list of favorites. Which means that these are MY preferences.  That does NOT mean that these are going the BEST methods. Pick and choose, and let experience be your guide.  I hope that these tips speak equally to your soul and your sensibility.  And more than that, I hope that you have FUN trying them out!

Brightest Blessings!

Getting Out of Your Own Way

image

It’s one thing to state that we create our own reality, to believe it. It’s another when we can see the workings of how we’ve created it, and it isn’t necessarily pretty. We frequently get caught in a cycle of attracting what we don’t want, and it primarily boils down to three main reasons:

  1. Focusing on what we DON’T want to manifest instead of what we do
  2. Fear, and lastly
  3. Not being clear on what it is we actually want

It is a deceptively easy practice to fall into putting our focus on what we don’t want instead of keeping our eyes on the actual goal.  As a matter of fact, it’s a necessary part of the process of creating a life that you desire to develop opinions, which means that you will need to be aware that there are things out there that aren’t to your taste.  When it becomes a problem is when these dislikes begin to drive your desires and what you’re manifesting in your life.  (More on this in a moment.)

Fear seems like a pretty straightforward hindrance to your happiness, but it wears many different guises and creeps into places that it just doesn’t belong.  Worry and anxiety are thinly veiled forms of fear, but sometimes it can also convince you that it’s actually ‘kindhearted concern’ or ‘common sense’, when really it’s just that part of yourself that wants to displace your desires to maintain the world that you know.  Let’s face it, change is hard.  The unknown can be scary. But it’s also exciting, exhilarating and that’s where the magic happens! Think about it – does the caterpillar shed its skin and don its wings in plain sight of everyone? No – it does it in its private little cocoon, out of sight and away from the rest of the world.

When we focus our thoughts and create our reality, our biggest hurdle is usually ourselves.  We contradict ourselves, if not in our thoughts, in the conflicting emotions that drive our manifestations. We can think that we are crystal clear on what it is that we want, and yet never see it reflected in the physical manifestation of our lives.  We can light candles, say prayers, create vision boards, do affirmations, and be patient, and look for it, and……..nothing.  Why do you think that is?

Because we don’t know ourselves.  We ignore the parts of what we’re feeling because we think that we ‘shouldn’t be’ feeling that way because it will get in the way of what we are manifesting.  But when we feel fear, we aren’t meant to ignore it. We’re meant to explore it. Why are we fearful? What is this fear? What am I actually fearing? What is it about this particular thing or situation that I feel pulls me out of alignment with the flow of Infinite Love?

When addressing fear in particular, you can’t think that you’re going to resolve it with logic.  What you have to do is dig into the feeling and get to know it.  Determine if it’s a good fear or a bad fear.  The way that I do this is by sinking into the feeling and I see if I can describe it with something else.  Is it exhilarating, exciting, overwhelming, do I just not want to do this, etc.? If it’s a good fear (exhilarating, exciting, etc.) then I can just re-align and adjust, and what was standing in the way of my manifesting is now fueling it! Now, if it’s a ‘bad fear’, (overwhelming, I don’t want to actually do this, etc.) then you need to actually look at what you’re trying to bring into manifestation because you probably don’t actually want it. Unfortunately, there’s not an easy way to resolve this conflict – you have to dig deep and figure out what it is that you really actually want; otherwise you’re going to just continue to sabotage your efforts.

We also unconsciously sabotage ourselves when we don’t realize that our ‘desires’ are really just reactions to what we don’t want. Think about this – is there a silent implication attached to the reality that you’re manifesting? For instance, are you focused on manifesting a job that pays a six figure income? Did this desire come about in response to feeling undervalued, underpaid or underappreciated in your current position? So then, is your desire really “a job that pays a six figure income” or is it “a job that pays a six figure income” with a silent “(unlike the crappy position I’m in now where I make a pittance and feel underappreciated)”?

Our experiences give us the roadmap to understanding what it is that we desire, but the trick to manifesting the life we desire is to find that which we desire even in the circumstances that are overall not desirable. In other words, yes you may want a job that appreciates you more, and part of this appreciation is paying you what you feel you deserve to be paid for the work that you do. To begin the process of creating this, you can’t hold your current situation as a stark contrast of what you don’t want.  Seeds don’t grow in a barren field, and this includes seeds of desire. You have to find the appreciation in your current situation, and then you put your focus there. You put your energy there. You find the co-worker that does appreciate you and you go out of your way to share your appreciation with them.  You grow your appreciation, and then extend it and begin to notice the little things that you like that you’d want to experience in the next position. It may be as simple as ‘I really like having the coffee station this close to my workspace’. Grow it into an experience of gratitude.

Manifesting isn’t about accumulating the most ‘cool stuff’, bigger paychecks, or any of that external crap.  It’s about placing yourself into a space of alignment and being brave enough to know what you desire, and then to watch that unfold into the world around you.  When we live in a space of alignment, when we know our own truth intimately and to follow it, then we can live in the world of our desire.  We all deserve to live in a space beyond our own fear.  The Universe itself is perpetually expanding, so why are holding ourselves to less of a standard? Allow yourself to expand beyond your fears; let them to become excitement! Allow yourself to know your desires intimately as you come to know yourself. And allow your Universe to reflect those desires into the world around you. Sometimes it’s just about realizing that you were getting in your own way.

A Psychic’s Guide to Dreams

images (13)

Dreams are a realm that many people feel cut off from.  For millennia, dreams have been acknowledged as a source of spiritual guidance and inspiration, yet many of us have difficulty grasping this for the simple reason that they don’t remember their dreams. I’m lucky because I am a dreamer. I grew up in a family and culture that reveres the wisdom of the dream world, and uses it to guide us.  Most of the time my dreams are simply my subconscious processing the events of my day, possibly with a ‘hint’ of what’s to come.  Sometimes though, my dreams are the landscape of powerful wisdom lessons from my guides.

There is a distinctly different tone to these dreams – an air of spiritual importance.  Most frequently they are reminders of the spiritual lessons that I’m processing through, and offer a sense of hope, as well as guidance to better navigate my challenges.  Sometimes these dreams enact coming events, but this is rare. Most of the glimpses into future provided by my dreams are conveyed symbolically, which is the case with most people, and even the most prophetic dreams are still influenced by your own psyche.

I can tell when I’ve had such a dream by the emotional tone that it strikes.  Simply put, it ‘feels important, significant’.  When I wake with this feeling, I immediately grab my notebook and pen (kept on my nightstand) and begin to write the dream down. First, I outline the components that stand out the most. This is usually a simple list, such as: castle, ocean, harlequin and mermaid.  I also list all of the ‘characters’ that I recognize, which may be friends, family or even celebrities. Then I write the dream out in a narrative form.  The reason I make a list of components before I just write the dream out as a story? For me, these help to trigger stronger memories of the dream.  Sometimes by the time I’m writing the last part of my dream down in narrative form, I discover that I’m already forgetting details, or even entire sequences in the dream. The list helps me to piece more information together.

Once I’ve recorded my dream, I leave it alone for a bit. I have breakfast, relax and wake up. Then I revisit the dream and begin to try to interpret it.  At first glance, I’m frequently overwhelmed by this. I just do the best that I can to interpret the symbolism and write it down. Then I often get a second interpretation. I will work with another intuitive to see how they would interpret my dream, which usually opens a whole new arena of insight for me.  I feel that it’s always good to get an outside perspective, and this is frequently what helps me to feel confident in the messages that I’m receiving from my dreams.

Understanding your dreams is frequently a hurdle that many people don’t even get to enjoy because they don’t ever remember what happens in the dremascape. Some people don’t believe they dream at all! (Or if they do, they don’t think they can ever remember their dreams.) It’s my belief that you can train yourself to have a fantastic dream recall. Here are a few techniques and things to consider to help you remember your dreams.

First, you should consider your sleep schedule.  Are you getting enough sleep? If not, I’ve found that dream recall suffers. A good way to tell if you are getting enough sleep is by looking at how long you sleep on days that you can turn your alarm off and sleep in.  How much sleep do you get when you’re not being woken up by an alarm? Are you waking refreshed? Typically most people require between 7-10 hours of sleep a night. If no amount of sleep seems to ever be enough, then it’s probably time to check in with your doctor. Conditions such as sleep apnea can severely inhibit quality sleep time, making your sleep debt overwhelming. Believe or not, regular exercise can also help you feel stronger and more alert, as well as positively impact your sleep.

If you know that you’re getting enough sleep, but you still aren’t able to remember your dreams, then a few simple techniques and tricks can be employed.  The dream world is not generally valued in our modern day culture, so sometimes it’s a part of our own brain that blocks our memory of dreaming. This can be countered and redirected through the use of affirmations. When crafting an affirmation, make sure that the statement is put in the present tense, and is positive in it’s tone, such as “I have full recollection and understanding of my dreams.” Keeping it short and sweet has proven helpful to me as well. Repeat the affirmation at least 50 times to yourself as you lay in bed preparing for sleep. You don’t have to say it out loud, but it does help to at least move your lips as if you were speaking the affirmation.

You should also keep a dream journal and pen on your nightstand, and you should record an entry each morning even if you don’t recall your dreams. You should write in the journal upon waking before your feet touch the ground.  Your entry should begin “What I recall most vividly from my dream is……….”. Even if your entry reads “what I recall most vividly from my dream is nothing”, writing this down begins to show the importance you are ascribing to your dreams to your subconscious mind. This will train your brain to begin to store the dream memories in places where they can be more easily accessed by your conscious mind.

Many people like to pray for direction to come in their dreams.  This was commonly seen in old pagan temples, where people could pray to a particular god or spirit and sleep in their temple to dream for messages of healing or guidance. The biblical verse Deuteronomy 29:29 is frequently prayed repeatedly at night to ‘dream true’ in many Southern households. Any heartfelt appeal to spirit can be effective in inviting divine guidance into our dreams, but is not a substitute for the other techniques already discussed. It is lazy to assume that the realm of spirit should do all the work to get a message across to you if you aren’t willing to put in some work to have better dream recall.

The process of strengthening your dream recall frequently doesn’t bear immediate fruits.  Sometimes it can take weeks of dedicated affirmations and dream journal entries before you begin to remember bits and pieces of your dreams.  The more focus you put on working towards dream recall, the more that you will begin to be able to remember.

In short, make sure that you are getting enough quality sleep; keep a dream journal that you write in each morning before your feet hit the floor; use affirmations and prayers to strengthen your spiritual connection through dreams; and most importantly have patience – it may take a while to hone these skills. These tips and tricks will serve you well in learning to recall your dreams.

Remembering and understanding dreams can be daunting tasks, but the rewards are well worth the effort.  The insight and healing that you can derive from your dreamtime can aid in your healing, spiritual development, and general understanding of the world around you.  So grab your dream journal, tuck yourself in and, until next time, sweet dreams and brightest blessings,

Reflection: A little about me

So I decided to update my blog and start using it again. I completely revamped the look of the blog site, changing everything top to bottom to bring it up to date! I then noticed that I had some very out of date links to my old website, so I changed those as well.  This prompted me to go through and start looking at some of the posts…… I ended up weeding out a lot of old posts. Many of these simply because they were out of date (such as when I was doing Energy Updates – astrological type forecasts – from back in 2008). But what really struck me was my post – A Little About Me.

In this post, I wrote about my aspirations, goals and ambitions. I also wrote about my life and it painted such a lovely picture…..of who I was.  It really struck such a chord with me because none of what was written – nothing – was up to date.  I was dumbfounded. Many of these goals and ambitions have since changed and evolved.  Some have come to fruition. A few, I’m still working on. As for the glimpse of the life I shared in that post, it is all but a memory now.

At first, I had the reaction that many people may have – self-deprecation. How could I let something get so out of date? But — and I’m very proud at how quickly I checked myself on this — I was able to move almost instantly into the space of seeing it as a blessing.  What a wonderful gift from Spirit to be able to re-introduce myself. And what a divine reminder to check-in with how far I’ve come, and how I’ve grown.

We are in a perpetual process of discovering ourselves, defining who we are. Like trees in the most ancient forests, we never stop growing. We never stop seeking the warmth of the light that guides us; as long as our roots are firmly planted, our souls can be properly nourished on this journey of spirit.

So, without further ado, this is where my beautiful journey has brought me to…..

I’m Elige Stewart, a psychic medium in Lansing, Michigan.  While I enjoy writing, I find that I don’t do nearly enough of it for my taste.  I live with a seizure disorder, which I found out about in my mid-twenties, and definitely influences most areas of my life.  I love dance – especially tribal belly dance – but my true passion has always been service to Spirit, which I express through mediumship and teaching spiritually based classes, but also more quietly through volunteerism and giving back to the community.  I consider myself a Spiritualist, but that’s more because I feel that the Divine is far too big to fit into any one religion.  I’m a mystic – I want to feel Spirit for myself. But truthfully, these are just labels, and many times labels just get in the way.

My current goals are to express more gratitude, live more joyfully, write more often (including at least weekly blog posts), live in the moment, get my activity level up again, and know that I am being the best Me that I can be.

My professional goals are to work platform/offer gallery readings (group or audience mediumship readings), publish more writing – preferably in book form, and to be able to travel and offer classes and readings.

The Blame Game, Atonement and Forgiveness

Article – The Blame Game, Atonement and Forgiveness by Elige Stewart

As we wind our way through our lives, we find our challenges popping up to greet us around every bend. When we greet our challenges, we should keep two powerful tools of aligning us with spirit in mind: Atonement and Foregiveness. All we need to know about these beautiful concepts are contained within the words themselves.

Frequently, our challenges place us on either side of the blame game, and this is the most potent use of our two featured tools of the Spirit. When we hurt another person or we perceive another to hurt us, we should think back to the wisdom inherent in process of forgiving and atonement.

Atonement is traditionally thought of as ‘making amends’ or ‘rectifying a wrong’. If we break the word down a little bit, though, we can see that there is a much more powerful process at work. At-one-ment. At – being the point in which we are, One – being the description of that point, and Ment – being the actions we take from this perspective. When we ‘atone’, we become more ‘at-one’ with a person, seeing a situation from their vantage point, and acting from that knowledge, usually with apologies. Here is a stunningly simple thought: What if we practiced at-one-ment on a regular basis, with all people that we meet?

What if we were able to recognize that all people that cross our paths are amazing and beautiful reflections of our indwelling spirits? What if we pre-emptively reached out to connect with them, seeing ‘us’ instead of ‘me and them’? We are all of the same spirit, the same source, and the process of atonement is simply reminding ourselves of that.

We can break the word down again and discover more hidden wisdom – a-tone-ment. In this etymology, we see that by recognizing the indwelling spirit of others, that we are actively setting the tone of leading a spirit driven life. When we see all as one, then others are more likely to see that as well, as it is simply a reminder of the soul level wisdom that we all know deep down.

So many of us are actively challenged on the other end of the blame game as well. In these instances, the appropriate tool to use is ‘for-give-ness’. For- represents our need to act without prompting (as in be-FOR-e). Give – means that we give the situation over completely – no takesies backsides! Ness – is the state of being in that moment. So, in other words, you are accepting that you cannot control the actions of another, and that what is past is past. When you forgive, then you release the power that a situation has over you or your life, and moving beyond it. That doesn’t mean you didn’t learn anything from the situation, it simply means that you have reclaimed your power from it.

By incorporating these concepts into your life, you clear up more space in your heart for love. You re-affirm your connection to all of life through Source, and you accept your true power. I mean, what’s more powerful than being one with all and accepting more love into your heart?

Living an Intuited Life

Article – Living an Intuited Life by Elige Stewart and James Wortz

A lot of people excitedly sign up for our classes to learn to strengthen their intuitive gifts and deepen their spiritual practice. The students usually take lengthy notes, absorbing every word we say, then leave to return to their ‘mundane lives’. So many people focus on developing their intuitive gifts without any practical application to their lives.

The main reason that one should take a class is to help them to better their life. This being said, there are an amazing number of gifted and dedicated spiritual or psychic teachers out there who can support you in your spiritual growth. It is up to you to use the techniques by applying them to everyday living.

Let’s take a for instance…… Grounding is a vital part of any psychic’s reading regimen. That’s all well and good, but what can a grounding technique do for you on a daily basis? Actually, grounding can help you to keep your energy fields balanced and cleared, which will then give a sense of clarity, focus and energy. This is ideal for trips to crowded places (such as malls, grocery stores or awkward holiday parties).

You should use your intuitive guidance in shopping for deals to check for quality, to help find a prime parking space, or to even find the best route between two places (one of James’ favorite tricks, especially when Elige got them lost!)

Another consideration is that as we develop our intuitive and spiritual power, the Universe will test our new traits and skills to show us just how much we’re progressing. Keep that in mind as you are consistently challenged by a seemingly incompetent coworker, or a crazy driver on the interstate. We cultivate the higher traits of wisdom, compassion and spiritual awareness so that we make live in these states on a daily basis. If you are anything like us, then it takes three things to do this: Practice, Practice and Practice.

One of the most potent uses of developing spirituality and intuitive prowess is our ability to facilitate healing. This is best done by maintaining an awareness of health on a daily basis, and addressing our minor energetic imbalances before they grow into physical symptoms. This also means dealing with stress pre-emptively as opposed to letting it grow to a point of overwhelming you.

This new concept of intuitive and spiritual functioning is one that we feel has been overlooked, as there are many classes on psychic and spiritual development, but few that help one to incorporate their intuition into everyday living. We intend to address this through lectures, workshops and classes over throughout the new year. Keep your eyes open for a series we’re calling Intuited Living through……… This series will contain lectures, articles and classes to help you integrate your spirituality and intuition into your everyday life.

Channeled Solutions

Blessings to all!  This is a channeled message from some of my guides in response to the fear that many of us concerning the current political process.  This is meant to be a message of Peace, Love and Hope, and is in no way an endorsement of one candidate over another. Please forgive strange wordings, as sometimes I have difficulty in translating my channeling cohesively.

“We are all so blessed.  The changes upon the World Stage are apparent, and all present are cherished and loved beings.  Many have forgotten their Spirit in the impending transition, though.  All people are beautiful expressions of the Highest Love, yet fear is taking precedence in the actions and motivations of this process.  We implore you, Blessed Ones, to be diligent in holding space for Love, and not being motivated by fear.  If we act from fear, we perpetuate fear.  If we act from Love, then we perpetuate Love.  Love is the superior option.  Love is Truth.  If we find our Spirit-Spark and act from it, than we shall manifest Truth, Beauty and further Love.  If it is Peace that we are seeking, then we must act in Peace.  Peace is not a stillness.  Peace is balance and dynamic.  Choosing Peace is NOT choosing inaction.  It is in fact choosing to open the depths of your being and find a dynamic middle ground.  Peace is meant to be shared.  We share our Love and Peace by Honoring those around us.  Honor all Life, as it is a perfection expression.  In this, you must especially Honor those whom you do not necessarily agree with, for this is the Highest Expression of Love.  In this action, you honor Diversity, which is a pivotal and powerful Global Lesson.  Share Love through Kindness.  Share Peace through Action.  Share Honor through Listening and Acknowledgement.  Share Wisdom through Prayer. Share your Differences through Gratitude. Blessings to you all. Evangeline”

“Laugh my Friends!  You come to us with Worlds of differences, and we shall show you Universes of similarity!  Love is the single fiber of Soul uniting the many Worlds.  Celebrate that which you Love.  Laugh with that which you are Grateful for.  Be Present in each moment as an Opportunity for Greatness, for all moments in which you know Love, you are Magnanomous! Feast upon the wonders and triumphs that are before you in the NOW!  Stop waiting for a better time, for there is no better time than NOW!  Fear can only exist in the Now as a link to the past.  If you continue to project fear into the future, then it will manifest in a future NOW.  Break the cycle by embracing your Greatness.  Find your Greatness in Love.  Blessings. Orchid”

“We have all that we need.  We are infinitely provided for.  Your success is not dependent on the future.  Your success is dependent on the present moment.  Find those things that you are grateful for – then you will know of your success.  All beings of the world are meant for Success and Happiness.  Those who do not experience those things seek to exist in that which was or that which may be.  Surround yourself with treasures, not of gold or silver, but of joy and love.  Blessings, JS.”

Thank you for sharing this moment with me. I ask that when we all enter the world, that we may see that which blesses us, and that our fears our replaced with Love, Light, and Peace.  I am making a conscious decision today to spread Love instead of Fear, and I ask that you find your way to do the same. Thank you, Elige.

Everyday Mysticism – Nurturing your Divine Connections

Mysticism is defined by dictionary.com as “a doctrine of an immediate spiritual intuition of truths believed to transcend ordinary understanding, or of a direct, intimate union of the soul with God through contemplation or ecstasy.”In short order, mysticism is experiencing the Divine.Mysticism has gotten a misunderstood wrap over the years.A mystic is usually seen as some scantily clad guru that sits in contemplation upon a distant mountain top. This is true. Some see a mystic in those that give themselves over to monastic living, donning habits or robes to spend the majority of their time in prayer. This also is true.It may shock you, though, that a mystic is just as likely to wear a business suit in a boardroom as they are the archaic apparel of some religious order.

Here is my logic:God/Source/Divinity is everywhere at all times, in all things. If that is the case, how can we be separate from this in the first place? That’s right ladies and gentlemen. We are ALL constantly in a state of mystical union! So what’s the big difference between us and the adepts sitting in quiet meditation in some remote mountain getaway? They just REMEMBER that we are all of Source! That’s it!It really is that simple!

So, then let’s talk about this. You may be sitting there completely and thoughtfully understanding this. So, why don’t you feel more mystical? Our connections with Spirit or Source are not always physically perceptible. Our connection to Source is perceived much like the weather. There are days when I work from home and I won’t even get dressed until noon. (That’s right folks! There is a chance that when you’ve gotten your early morning phone readings that I’ve been swathed in a robe and my smiley face pajama pants! How’s that for a visual?)Well, when I do get ready to leave the house, I may peer out the window to see the bright and gorgeous sunshiney day, so I put on shorts and a short sleeved shirt, only then I find that this beautiful sunshine is part of a conspiracy of nature that insists on my catching hypothermia! So like the weather, Spirit gives us hints to our connection, but we don’t fully know it until we walk through the door.

The state of being that we normally think of as ‘mystical’ is actually a state called ‘ecstasy’, which means ‘rapturous delight or overpowering and intense emotion’.Ecstasy is actually derived from the Greek word meaning ‘trance’, and that is how we find our connection to Source.Ecstasy is basically the moment that we become aware of our wholeness in/with Source.Ecstasy is when the boundaries of ‘me’ fall away leaving ‘we’.

Here’s a contemplation/meditation to lead you into a state of everyday ecstasy.

Brew yourself a cup of coffee (or tea, if you’re not a coffee drinker).Sit and completely take in the aroma before you take your first sip. As you have your first taste, close your eyes and bring to mind the coffee bean that this delicious brew originated with.Let the full bodied taste wash over your tongue and mentally connect with the coffee plant that the bean came from.Follow it from a tiny seed sprouting to a fully grown plant bearing it’s bean.Feel the connection to mountainous soil that it’s grown in.See yourself completely as this plant. Now, as you take another sip, feel the hands of the man (or woman) who picked your bean.Feel their rugged earthy texture plucking you delicately from your stalk.Really feel him! What was his mood when he picked you? What was thinking about? What is his family like?Really feel it.Then, bring your awareness back to your brew.Take another sip and be aware of the water that supplied the liquid for your morning perk.In your mind, follow the water down into the water table or to the lake that your water comes from.Feel your awareness as expansive as that great lake.Allow it to expand, feeling the many forms of life that are supported inside of you.Simply be aware. Now allow your awareness to expand into the lofty waters in the clouds of the sky.Feel yourself floating high above the world.Feel the winds gently blowing you about. As you take another sip, feel yourself grow heavy and fall from your cloudy perch.Feel the freedom and smell the air as you rush downward, landing on the bean of a coffee plant. Now, once again feel the same hand reach out and pluck the bean, leaving you to fall into the mountainous soil.Feel the impact that you have against the ground.Realize now that you are the mountain. You are the plant. You are the farmer. You are the water. You are all things. We are all things. All things are one, in every moment. In every breath. In every sip of coffee.

Ecstasy and mysticism are all encompassing. These moments are simply labels, not for what we do, but for the moments that we remember all that we are.The strongest form of mysticism is when you allow yourself to realize that you are only separated from the person in front of you by thought.Thought or consciousness of separateness is the only thing that really makes you separate.

We are less like individual glasses of water, and more like waves of one great ocean. When we think of the individual waves, then we think of all of the Bobs and Janes. When we think of the great ocean, then we think in terms of Source.Being part of the ocean doesn’t make the wave any less individual or unique. If anything, it empowers the wave.Alone, a wave can leave a treasure on the beach or perhaps sully a sandcastle. When the wave is empowered by the ocean of which it is a part, then it can be a growing tide or even a tsunami!

When we seek power, as we as humans tend to do, then we can either find ways to differentiate ourselves or disengage from the crowd. When we find our power, our true power, it inevitably is the power of connection, the power of community, the power of Source, and of Unity.

Ascension – An Introduction

Ascension: An Introduction

Article: Ascension – An Introduction by Elige

Many of us may have heard about a process called Ascension. I’ve met many people who ascribed to ascension based beliefs and I usually ran the other way. Ascension usually implies a connection to a vast and confusing systemic background that involves at least 7 rays, 7 or 12 dimensions, chohan positions filled by various ascended masters, etc. It’s enough to boggle my mind.

A while back one of my guides, Evangeline, started talking to me about ascension and really cleared it up for me. Simply put, ascension is the process of rising or raising. It involves rising through the dimensions of existence by raising your base vibration. Evangeline explains this from the perspective of empathy, or centered in the heart.

We’ve all had those days where our world is just more challenging; we feel like everyone in the universe is ganging up on us; basically, we view the world as harsh and unkind. This can be seen as living through another dimension. We are still here, interacting with the same fleshy world, but the tone is different. The next day, we may wake and see the sun shining and hear the birds chirping and suddenly feel lighter and happier. Congratulations, you’ve just shifted your dimensional awareness!

The process of ascension is one in which we focus on aligning our energies with those of a higher vibration. Let me explain it this way: Goddess/God/Universe/Source exists on all planes and dimensions of existence. However, the purest form of Source exists on the highest dimension, or at the highest vibratory level. Think of it in terms of television. We can technically get in a number of channels with just an antennae, but it always seems that the show we want to watch is on a channel that isn’t coming in clearly. The rest always seems to be infomercials. Raising your vibratory rate is like getting satellite or cable. The channels come in more clearly. This doesn’t mean that all the channels have good shows on all of the time. It just means that you can see them all more clearly. Following this example, instead of being stuck watching infomercials all the time, we can change the channel to show we wanted to watch or find an even better one!

Ascension can be viewed as a process towards ‘en-light-enment’. I spell it out this way for two reasons. Many intuitives speak of ascension as becoming at one with the light. This is a great way to think of it, but I feel as though the next description is a better one. Ascension is moving past the heavy and burdensome experiences, leaving you feeling lighter. Fear, anger, pain and negativity in general are ‘heavier’ emotions, more tied to the human body. Ascension brings the awareness more squarely on the spirit, bringing the emotions that vibrate more closely with Source into perspective.

Evangeline describes the process as an empathic one because as humans, our emotions structure how the energy of our lives manifests. Our emotions guide us and form the very building blocks of our experiences. By shifting the emotional clarity into higher definition, then we begin to understand this process and how to take a more active role in it. We can live our lives closer to the Source! Once we make this shift, we start to see that all people are extensions of Source, and that we are so intimately connected that what happens to one happens to all. We then begin to understand that we may not control the life and experience of another, but that we can control our reactions to others. We begin to respond with compassion instead of judgment. We can empathize and help others, all the while maintaining our experience of vibratory closeness with Source. As we maintain our reality of compassion and higher vibration, we begin to attract experiences and people that reflect higher vibrations.

Most people who follow ascension practices call themselves Lightworkers. They choose to work exclusively with the energy of Light, while avoiding what they consider darkness or shadow. The problem with this is that every light casts a shadow. Ignoring the shadow doesn’t make it go away. Darkness represents fear and negativity to many lightworkers. Once fear is addressed, then darkness simply becomes Shadow, which is transition and consequence, or Karma/Reciprocity. We don’t seek to be beyond Karma, we seek to understand it.

I know, I know. I started sounding all cryptic and stuff. The reason is that the concepts and experiences of ascension are intuitively/emotionally/empathically based. We shift away from the readily defined physical into the realm of soft concepts. This is how all of those structures, dimensions, rays and chohans came about. It is our brain trying to interpret what our hearts are perceiving through our spirit. It doesn’t mean that they are wrong, it simply means that the rational language of the mind has to speak in metaphors about something beyond what it was designed to explain.

As a precursor to practicing ascension processes, try this little exercise. Write down every action you take over the next few hours, especially interactions with other people. After you’ve done this, rate your level of compassion in each action on a scale of one to ten. Not so easy, eh? The reason that I recommend doing this is two fold: first, so you can begin to shift your awareness to a compassion mind-set. Secondly, so that you can understand that explaining intuitive or emotional concepts isn’t something that the brain excels at, but that these types of experiences and understandings are how our spirits interact with the world.

There are many books out there that can help you further explore the structures and mythos of ascension. There are also many that give ascension processes. Chris Penzak has Ascension Magick. Diane Stein has the Essential Energy Balancing series. David Stone has written many books about ascension. There is also a book called The Light Shall Set You Free. Follow your intuition and find the book that resonates with you, remembering that the complexities of them are simply the spirit trying to make sense to the physical, and that your own experience can be much more simple while equally profound.
